Ending the Year on a High Note: A Day of Discovery

Last week, we wrapped up the year with our biggest and most exciting activity yet—a special gift of an experience! For many of our students, leaving their community or even the city of Juticalpa is a rare and significant event. So, we decided to take the entire class on an unforgettable journey to the Honduran capital, Tegucigalpa, to visit Chiminike, an interactive learning center filled with science exhibits, games, and hands-on fun.

The day began with an early morning bus ride, buzzing with excitement. For most students, this was their first time leaving Juticalpa, making the adventure even more meaningful. At Chiminike, they explored fascinating exhibits, played interactive games, and learned through engaging activities. The joy and excitement on their faces were priceless!

But the excitement didn’t stop there. After a morning of learning and fun, we headed to a local mall for lunch, where the students experienced the festive holiday lights and decorations. For many, this was their first time visiting a mall, and it was an equally memorable part of the day.

By the time we returned home, the students were exhausted but happy, sleeping soundly on the bus after a day they’ll cherish forever.
